My Reading Responses

Week 3 reading response:

I feel sorry about my self, not to complete my reading on time. If I have done that hopefully, I understand what Blog is? Very early. Reading the article and going through the links really help me. Even though it is such a new concept so it is hard to understand, or to define its use and usefulness among us. To me what best define definition of blog is by Jay Cross "A blog is defined as a Website with dated entries, usually by a single author, often accompanied by links to other blogs that the site’s editor visits on a regular basis. Think of a blog as one person’s public diary or suggestion list. Early blogs were started by Web enthusiasts who would post links to cool stuff that they found on the Internet. They added commentary. They began posting daily. They read one another’s blogs. A community culture took hold." http://www.elearnspace.org/Articles/blogging_part_1.htm

Week 4 reading response:

When I first heard of Curriculum mapping, I always wonder what Curriculum mapping really is, how it works, how teachers coordinate with them selves within the curriculum? And etc.

Developing understanding is my latest job. As it is one among many new concepts to me. Class reading helps me a lot. Reading helps to understand and to clear concepts that it works within a grade level as well as across grade levels vertically to get a true picture of grade, building to building. Great, and exciting. But curriculum mapping with technology will be most promising.

Searching for answers of my questions I found some interesting information:
What is “Regardless of the organization method, curriculum maps address the major ideas and projects that drive a class, as opposed to attempting to map every topic of discussion in classrooms, which would unnecessarily consume time and energy. One of the most important features of curriculum maps is that they are geared to the school calendar, and each teacher's time line is precisely displayed on the map.”

Who creates two groups of people crucial to the creation of a curriculum map: the teachers who provide the information and the curriculum team who organize the information.

Why create lead educators and their community to ask and answer the provoking questions that improve instruction and promote achievement.

Week 5 & 6 reading response:

Technology integration is a wide term. With technology integration in our subject areas we can build our classroom interesting place for our students. We can incorporate our goals with the help of power point, word document, excel, inspiration, and etc, in reading and writing. Among them use of web quest, and virtual trips are very developing. As they give students the first hand information.

We all quite familiar with wed quest. I made couple of them. My first wed quest was “How to create a Web Quest?” available at http://coe.west.asu.edu/students/grandhawa/webquest1.htm . I always use Bernie Dodge’s web quest templates. Bernie Dodge has easy and ready to use templates, for teachers and for students.

But now Web quest will become easier and simple, by Quest Garden, will be generally available on September 1. For the comments on Bernie Dodge’s Quest Garden visit

Technology has its own ways and means of education, among them virtual trips is one? A virtual trip makes learning and teaching more meaningful and fun. We can bring out side world, undercover world in the class.

Week 7 reading response:

The ePortfolio is a promising framework for enduring learning, self-assessment and
Construction of value across a student's educational path. Learners learn by doing, and by constructing knowledge, meaning, ownership and value from the act of learning. In 530 I have develop ePortfolio. That was my first experience. I develop a good concept of links, and designing. I am looking for ward to use this technology in the classroom.
